Recruitment concludes in June
The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has good news for those who applied to join the Federal Fire Service (FFS).
The recruitment process will be completed by June 15, 2024. This follows a revised timeline for hiring in all paramilitary services under CDCFIB.
Results coming soon
If you applied to be a firefighter, you won’t have to wait much longer to find out if you’ve been successful. The final list of chosen candidates will be published on June 15th.

CDCFIB warns applicants to be cautious of scammers.
There is no fee to apply for a job with the Federal Fire Service. Don’t give money or personal information to anyone claiming to be able to help you get the job.
Next steps for shortlisted candidates
If you’re chosen to move forward in the recruitment process, you’ll be contacted directly via email and phone. You’ll be asked to visit the CDCFIB website to take a computer-based test (CBT).

Disciplinary action for officers
The CDCFIB meeting also addressed disciplinary matters. A total of 118 cases against officers from all four services were reviewed.
These cases involved officers from the:
- Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS) – 48 cases
- Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) – 21 cases
- Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) – 37 cases
- Federal Fire Service (FFS) – 12 cases
The Board took appropriate disciplinary measures in each case.
